The Power of the Family.
In many ways, family is the cornerstone of The Experiment in International Living. For seventy-seven years, we have worked with tens of thousands of families across the world to build and run extraordinary summer programs for high school students. We recognize that there is no greater responsibility than running thoughtful, fun, educational, and safe programs for your children. We seek to work closely with your family to determine whether The Experiment is a good fit for the needs of your child and guide you to find the right program to ensure the most dynamic, impactful experience possible.
During a summer with The Experiment, your child becomes part of a group of other high school students. This group, typically 10-15 students each with a trained adult group leader, becomes your child’s family for the summer offering support, encouragement, and friendship throughout. During the homestay, your child learns about the daily life of another culture in a homestay becoming a son, daughter, brother, or sister. Learning about a culture from within encourages connection, creates friendship, and helps your child develop the skills, attitudes, and relationships necessary to a meaningful, long-lasting experience. Our goal at The Experiment is simple. We seek to run the highest quality, most personal, safest, and most impactful summer abroad experiences possible. During the summer program cycle, a full-time Experiment staffer is on-call to handle after-hours issues 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
