EXPLORE
a new place and change the way you see the world.

Riding bikes in SwitzerlandOur programs all follow a comprehensive structure designed specifically for a dynamic experience that ensures the safety and welfare of our students. Each Experiment group in every country enjoys the same four-part program structure, so students are introduced to their host country and are sufficiently oriented before becoming fully immersed in their new community. Every step of the way, experienced and well-trained adult group leaders work closely with broad networks of in-country professionals to ensure safe and dynamic programs.

Orientation

Start adapting to your host country by spending a few days in the capital or other major city and orienting yourself to your new environment. As part of an Experiment group, these first few days give you the opportunity to begin to absorb the customs, speak the language, taste new flavors, and open yourself up to new experiences before moving on to meet your host family.

Homestay

Join your host family and become a member of their household. Share in their daily activities and immerse yourself in life as a native, not a tourist. Throughout your homestay, you also take part in cultural activities with your group membersand host siblings exploring your new community.

Focus

Engage in the thematic focus of your program and connect with local experts who will deepen your understanding of important traditions, customs, and issues. Whether you decide to pursue your artistic interests, participate in a community service-oriented program, explore the historical sites of your host country, enhance your language skills, or study the natural and ecological world, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in a deeply enriching aspect of your host country.

Synthesis

Conclude your Experiment by returning to the capital city to celebrate your experience and reflect on all that you have learned and gained along the way.

Examine

Return home and know that this experience will stay with you forever. Remember to take time to share memories of your summer abroad, reminisce about friendships and re-examine all that you learned and discovered as you move forward with the next stage of your life.
