Orientation in Paris
During your three-day orientation in Paris, become an expert at negotiating the Metro, visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, and meander down the Champs Elysées. Practice French while visiting local vendors to buy bread, fruit, and cheese for a picnic lunch.
French Alpine Adventure
After your 17-day homestay, hike through the rugged Alps with your group and alpine guide. Immerse yourself in the dramatic landscape as you trek through alpine fields,climb massive glaciers, try out your mountaineering skills, and practice French with locals in centuries-old villages. Your program concludes with a hike over the Italian border for an overnight in the mountains.
Sample host community: Briançon
Sample activities: White-water raft on the Durance river; mountainbike through the Clarée Valley; sample tasty polenta Piémontaise, a regional delicacy.
