During your three-day orientation in Paris, become an expert at negotiating the Metro, visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, and meander down the Champs Elysées. Practice French while visiting local vendors to buy bread, fruit, and cheese for a picnic lunch.
Photography in Paris
Under the guidance of a Parisian photojournalist, you receive a thorough introduction to the beauty and power of photography. Following your 17-day homestay, return to Paris to create a photodocumentary. Classes in technique deepen your mastery of light, ambience, and storyline. Explore the colorful neighborhoods of Paris equipped
with your camera and French language skills, then join your group to develop your images and review your experiences. Your journey culminates with a show of your work in southern Paris.
Sample host communities: Alès, Sète, Vitré
Sample activities: Take in a street performance in Avignon; kayak along gentle rivers; set up a photo shoot in Pere LaChaise, the Belleville Market, or the Marais District; explore the arrondissements of Paris with a French photojournalist; see photo exhibits in the Musée de l’Art Modèrne.
