France: Exploring the Camargue Program

Orientation in Paris
During your three-day orientation in Paris, become an expert at negotiating the Metro, visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, and meander down the Champs Elysées. Practice French while visiting local vendors to buy bread, fruit, and cheese for a picnic lunch.

Exploring the Camargue
Famous for its natural beauty, waving rice fields, running bulls, and white horses, the Camargue is France’s Wild West. Following your homestay with a French family, you and your group discover Camarguaises traditions, visit medieval towns, view the famous Camargue pink flamingos, ride horseback, and relax on the warm beaches of the Mediterranean.

Sample host community: Nîmes

Sample activities: Visit Montpelier and Avignon; horseback ride through the marshes of the Camargue; spend time on the beaches of Grau-du-Roi and Saintes Maries de la Mer.
